Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for creating cost standards for materials and labor, creating cost estimates for new and proposed products, and completing margin analysis and analysis of standard vs actual costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create cost standards for materials and labor
  • Create cost estimates for new and proposed products
  • Complete margin analysis and analysis of standard vs actual costs
  • Perform cost analysis of manufacturing operations, equipment availability, and utilization
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for cost and inventory
  • Review cycle counts and complete variance analysis
  • Oversee annual physical inventory

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum three years of cost accounting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with an ERP system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative problem-solving skills, willing to offer innovative ideas and solutions
