Clinical Education Specialist Job Overview

This role plays a vital part in the growth and development of our healthcare team members.

The Clinical Education Specialist plans, coordinates, and implements orientation programs, in-services, and continuing education activities for staff.

They also assist the Health Center Director of Nursing Services in overseeing the activities of licensed and non-licensed personnel who provide care to residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Orientation Program Development: Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the orientation program for new employees to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Educational Needs Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify the educational needs of staff and develop targeted training programs to address these needs.
  • In-service and Continuing Education: Plan, coordinate, and evaluate in-service and continuing education programs, including annual updates.
  • BLS Instructor Certification: Establish and maintain certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor to provide ongoing training opportunities for staff.
Qualifications
  • A current RN license and BLS certification are required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as an RN, with 2+ years in a nursing management role in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience in staff development and certification as a BLS instructor are highly valued.
