Vivarium Assistant

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled animal care technician to join our research lab team in Baltimore, MD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of research animals by ensuring their enclosures are clean and sanitized.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure animal enclosures are clean and sanitized according to established protocols">
• Perform daily animal health observations and administer medications as required">
• Conduct daily water bottle/automatic water line and cage checks">
• Provide appropriate food and water to research animals">
• Evaluate animal behavior and report any signs of illness or distress">

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in animal care and husbandry, with a strong understanding of animal behavior and health. They must also be physically able to stand, walk, or move about campus on a continuous basis, and be able to lift, carry, or move objects and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $16.00-$17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
