Document Control Specialist

As a Document Control Specialist at US Tech Solutions, Inc., you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining document control and record management systems for the Electric Transmission & Distribution Organization. Your proficiency in file transfer protocols and procedures will enable you to provide general support for ET&D utilizing our document management software, McLaren.
You will be responsible for communicating effectively with architectural and engineering firms as well as company engineers to resolve issues and conflicts with drawings. Additionally, you will plan, organize, and collect information and make judgments through collaboration with team leaders.
As a team-oriented and well-organized individual, you will interface and work with teams with diverse disciplines, understand their documentation needs and requirements. You will support Records Management Center team with database updates and logs and provide support and training of new staff and A&E's on Document Control processes and procedures.
You will also support plotting / printing requests from project teams and organize physical drawing packages for field personnel. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, possess strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with multiple priorities. You will be able to organize, prioritize, and work under tight schedules, and possess effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong organizing skills, and be results-oriented.
Requirements:
- Proficient in the use of computer technology and software, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including Project Management, Construction, A&E, and IP Engineering personnel.
- Foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity.
- Ability to lift drawing packages exceeding 20 lbs.
- Ability to work standing up for several hours per day to make scans and work with engineering plotter equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree or certification.
- 1-3 years experience in document controls or other relevant field.
- Familiarity with OCE, HP, or other plotting equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SharePoint, FileNet, shared drives, and DMS Systems – i.e. McLaren.
- Basic knowledge of MicroStation.
- Familiarity and experience with a utility company.
