Job Overview

This Child and Family Support Specialist role involves working with children and their families to provide social services and support.

Responsibilities
  • Protecting Children: Intervene when children are in danger of abuse or neglect.
  • Supporting Families: Help families find housing, apply for benefits, and connect with resources.
  • Counseling: Provide counseling to children and families to help them cope with difficult situations.
  • Arranging Adoptions: Assist in arranging adoptions and finding foster homes for children.
  • Reuniting Families: Work with families on reunification plans.
  • Addressing School Issues: Work with teachers, parents, and school administrators to address issues like truancy, misbehavior, and teenage pregnancy.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in social work or counseling.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to complete and pass given clearances including FBI, state, and child background checks.
