Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and develop maintenance skills to become a Maintenance Mechanic
  • Perform equipment inspections, identify defective parts and components, and provide preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshoot bakery equipment to execute maintenance/mechanical repair
  • Work with Qualified Maintenance Mechanics to attain On-the-Job (OJT) training and develop practical skills
  • Learn company policies, including safety rules, procedures, LOTO, GMPs, personal safety standards, food safety standards, and basic OSHA standards
  • Develop skills in using power tools, hand tools, grinder, drill presses, band saw, shop tools, and basic measuring tools for mechanical repair
  • Learn metal welding, forklift operation, and scissor lift operation
  • Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, mechanical troubleshooting issues, and equipment maintenance
  • Learn to read and interpret mechanical prints/drawings/equipment manuals
  • Identify potential energy risks and take equipment to a safe/zero energy state
  • Learn to identify and correctly dispose of chemicals and lubricants in mechanical PM and repairs
  • Develop lubrication practices to avoid over-lubrication and ensure correct lubricant quantity in equipment
  • Learn basic plumbing/piping circuits and replace sprockets/chains, belts, hoses, clutches, coupling, bearings, brakes, seals, gaskets, and drive components as needed
  • Repair/replace mechanical components on motors, pumps, mixers, conveyor lines, ovens, coolers, gearboxes, and perform mechanical tasks of preventive maintenance on bakery equipment
  • Learn to identify mechanical parts in equipment and follow process for checkout parts and inventory cycle counts
  • Develop skills in completing and documenting work orders on equipment through Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ensure equipment plant is maintained, guarded, and operated in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures
Requirements:
  • Fluent in English oral and written
  • Pass required exam/test for acceptance into Apprenticeship program
  • Flexibility to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as scheduled
  • Able to self-learn by looking through manuals, videos, etc.
  • Able to attain basic Maintenance skills and basic computer skills
  • Ability to work off ground level with proper safety training and safety equipment
  • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment
  • Practical problem-solving oriented
  • Teamwork oriented
  • Already know about bakery equipment operation or able to learn how to operate them
