**Job Summary**

ACS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in our facilities.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Reporting and Compliance**: Report to the Facilities Manager and interface with internal management and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • **Master Cleaning Schedule**: Ensure that activities on the Master Cleaning Schedule (MCS) are performed and documented, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • **Quality and Compliance**: Ensure that cGMP and Quality requirements are followed throughout the facility, maintaining a high level of quality and compliance.
  • **Certification and Training**: Maintain AIB certification and meet minimum 965 score, and train personnel on policies and procedures.
  • **Communication and Continuous Improvement**: Communicate challenges, findings, and suggestions for continuous improvement to the team and management.
  • **Chemical Control Program**: Maintain an approved chemical list database and monitor the chemical control program.
  • **Internal Audit Schedule**: Establish and maintain the Internal Audit schedule.
  • **Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Plans**: Perform Root Cause Analysis and develop Corrective Action Plans to address any issues.
  • **Safety Committee**: Be an active participant in the Daily Staff Meetings and a member of the Safety Committee.
  • **Certifications and Training**: Maintain certification as a First Aid Responder and accredited CE's.
  • **Control Plan**: Enforce adherence to the Control Plan.
  • **Corrective Action Plans**: Complete assigned tasks listed in Corrective Action Plans.
  • **Lean Manufacturing Tools**: Understand Lean Manufacturing tools, including 5 why's, Brainstorming, Fishbone Graphs, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • **Equipment Calibration**: Maintain equipment calibration.

**Qualifications**

**Requirements**

  • **Experience**: 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, working in a management role.
  • **Education**: Some college preferred.
  • **Safety Programs**: Working knowledge and experience with Safety Programs (OSHA, Workman's Comp).
  • **Food Defense Program**: Experience managing a food defense program.
  • **Quality Assurance Management**: Working knowledge and experience with Quality Assurance Management (RCAs, Corrective/Preventative Measures, ISO, AIB, SQF).
  • **Continuous Improvement Methodologies**: Working knowledge or certification in Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • **Communication**: Experience communicating Quality and Production performance to customers.
  • **Language**: Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
