Activity Director

Job Summary:
Fowler Nursing Center seeks a skilled Activity Director to lead our recreational programs and ensure the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational, and physical needs of our residents are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive program of activities and leisure pursuits to promote resident engagement and well-being.
- Conduct admissions interviews and complete the activities section of the MDS assessment tool to identify resident preferences and needs.
- Create a monthly calendar of available activities and post it in the center to keep residents informed.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify health issues that may impact activity participation and develop strategies to support residents with functional or situational limitations.
- Plan community activities that bring together residents, staff, families, and the community to foster social connections and a sense of community.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and preferences, and ensure physician approval for involvement in activity programs.
- Provide opportunities for residents to engage in group and individual leisure pursuits, such as arts and crafts, community outings, religious activities, and intellectual/educational activities.
Requirements:
- Active CNA certificate.
- One-year experience as an Activity Director in long-term care, preferred but not required.
