About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to laboring women and their newborns, including administering medications, performing vaginal exams, and monitoring fetal heart rates.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient progress and develop care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including vital signs, medication administration, and lab results.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure informed decision-making and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current state nursing license.
  • ACLS, NRP (or obtained within three months of employment).
  • Basic Dysrhythmia Class Requirements specified for specialty unit.
