General Job Responsibilities:

The Surface Finishing Specialist is responsible for refining and polishing the surfaces of various items. The role requires the ability to interpret and understand basic instructions and correspondence, as well as the capability to compose simple written communications.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • At least one year of relevant experience
  • Proficient in both verbal and written English

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect and assess the surface of workpieces for any defects.
  2. Utilize grinding tools to eliminate scratches and imperfections from surfaces.
  3. Polish treated areas with finer abrasives to achieve a flawless finish.
  4. Replace worn-out abrasive disks, wheels, and belts as necessary.
  5. Select appropriate grades of abrasive materials based on specifications.
  6. Operate material handling equipment effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  2. Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers is required.
  3. Ability to stand for extended periods may be necessary.
  4. Some repetitive motions may be involved.
  5. Due to the nature of the warehouse environment, the ability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and cold, is essential.
