Splicing Engineer

Job Overview:

The Splicing Engineer is a critical role within our team, responsible for splicing fiber optic subscriber drops, testing for signal quality, and ensuring the integrity of our network. This position requires a strong understanding of fiber optics, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling: Coordinate with dispatch to optimize job scheduling.
  • Equipment and Materials Pickup: Collect necessary materials and equipment for assigned jobs.
  • Splicing and Testing: Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic drop cables, prioritizing minimal signal loss and optimal performance.
  • Labeling and Stowing: Label and neatly stow fiber cables, adhering to industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve signal issues, focusing on the spliced drop.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of splicing activities and testing results.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent, technical training in fiber optics preferred. Experience with splicing equipment, testing tools, and fiber optic installation techniques is highly beneficial.
