Daytime Lifeguard

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified lifeguard to join our team at the HRCA Rec Center at Northridge. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of members and guests at our aquatic facilities.

• Enforce Pool Rules and Regulations: Prevent accidents by enforcing organizational policies, rules, and regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of persons using swimming pools.
• Maintain Pool Area Discipline: Maintain discipline in and around the pool area, and call for assistance if needed.
• Perform Light Maintenance and Janitorial Duties: Perform light maintenance and janitorial duties as required to maintain swimming pool decks, bathrooms, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy aquatic environment.
• Assist with Documentation: Assist with written documentation for chemical logs, incident reports, etc. during scheduled shifts.
• Host Special Events: Perform host duties for special programming, such as birthday parties, and ensure participants have a safe and positive experience.
• Participate in Organizational Mission: Participate in the mission of the organization to enhance property values and create quality of life through recreation, community events, and leadership.

• Certifications: Must be certified in lifeguarding and CPR/AED.
• Age: Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to frequently sit, walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and lift, push or pull. Must be able to stand/walk/rove for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous lifeguard experience preferred.
