About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Collections Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collection efforts of facility level accounts for services rendered by PharMerica and the reconciliation of any balance variances.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect outstanding balances from healthcare facilities, utilizing approved collection techniques and providing exceptional customer service through phone calls and/or emails.
  • Identify at-risk accounts and escalate them to management and account managers for timely resolution.
  • Document all collection efforts with clear and concise notes, maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers, including facility owners and CEOs, to resolve assigned portfolios of accounts by collecting the balance due or taking other necessary actions to resolve account balances in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of billing and/or collections experience.
  • Familiarity with third-party billing and collections/billing in the healthcare industry, preferably with AS400 computer experience.
  • Strong data entry skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Webex, and MS Teams.
  • Desirable qualifications include medical billing and coding experience.
