Position Title: Commercial Chiller Service Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on central plant equipment, including chillers of 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, and auxiliary systems.
  • Conduct overhauls of centrifugal chillers as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in rigging and related tasks.
  • Collaborate with the office to recommend and execute repairs from initiation to completion.
  • Be available for emergency service calls on a rotating schedule.
  • Oversee end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning processes.
  • Organize and manage maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for chillers and central plant equipment.
  • Execute daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all related equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed within the scheduled timeframe.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all on-site equipment.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings to uphold safety standards.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Chiller Field Supervisor on customer opportunities and issues.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience at the journeyman level along with relevant technical education.
  • Experience in commercial and industrial air conditioning is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of chillers, HVAC systems, and central plant operations.
  • Expertise in large tonnage HVAC systems is required.
  • Availability for emergency service calls on a rotating basis.
  • Must hold EPA certification.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage of $51.40.
