We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fraud Specialist to join our team at Hills Bank. As a key member of our fraud prevention team, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating financial risks associated with fraudulent transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fraud Support
    • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, responding to inquiries and resolving disputes related to fraudulent transactions.
    • Assist customers in disputing transactions that they do not recognize, and verify transaction activity with account holders.
    • Communicate effectively with customers via phone, voicemail, or email to resolve fraud issues and maintain account security.
    • Ensure prompt and courteous responses to customer inquiries, and advise customers on the resolution of fraud issues.
  • Fraud Review
    • Review electronically deposited transactions to ensure they meet deposit guidelines, and place holds on deposits as necessary.
    • Review deposit transactions with frontline staff to determine the necessity of a hold, and ensure compliance with regulations.
    • Identify red flags in domestic and international wires, bill payments, and external transfer requests, and communicate effectively with frontline staff to resolve issues.
    • Implement ACH regulations, rules, and guidelines to determine the appropriate processing of disputed ACH transactions.
  • Fraud Investigation
    • Investigate and process disputes for transactions not recognized by the customer, and assist in the review and investigation of disputed transactions.
    • Review and research evidence/documentation of claims reported, and provide recommendations as needed.
    • Prepare and coordinate fraud cases, and submit files to the appropriate department.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; associate's degree or two years of customer service and banking experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payment technology industry, including chargeback/dispute lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
