Hydro Excavation Truck Operator

We are seeking a skilled Hydro Excavation Truck Operator to join our team at Spectrum Environmental Services Inc. As a Hydro Excavation Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating specialized vehicles used in excavation and cleaning activities.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Hydro Excavation Truck: Safely and efficiently operate the Hydro Excavation truck to excavate and remove debris from underground utility lines and other areas.
- Perform Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition and report any maintenance requirements.
- Use High-Pressure Water Systems: Use high-pressure water systems to break up and remove soil, rocks, and other debris surrounding utility lines.
- Operate Vacuum System: Operate the vacuum system to extract and collect the excavated material for proper disposal.
- Follow Safety Guidelines: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Adhere to Traffic Regulations: Maintain awareness of surroundings while operating the Hydro Excavation truck and adhere to traffic regulations.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment: Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) during all work activities.
- Identify and Report Hazards: Identify and report any potential hazards or unsafe conditions to management promptly.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the Hydro Excavation truck, including checking oil levels, changing filters, and cleaning the equipment.
- Report Vehicle Malfunctions: Report any vehicle malfunctions or defects to the supervisor for necessary repairs.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Coordinate with Crew Members: Coordinate with the crew members, including spotter and other equipment operators, to ensure efficient excavation operations.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with team members to complete tasks safely and accurately.
- Assist and Cross-Train: Assist and cross-train in other areas of the operation as necessary.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License: Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
- Experience: Proven experience operating Jet Vac/Hydro Excavation trucks or similar equipment.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of excavation procedures and proper use of high-pressure water and vacuum systems.
