Job SummaryThe Shop Trailer Technician I will be responsible for performing DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light repairs, and other duties as assigned. This dedicated on-site shop position requires a strong understanding of trailer parts and systems, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform DOT inspections and preventative maintenance inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles
- Conduct light repairs and maintenance services, including oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, and trailer tools to diagnose and repair issues
- Document work performed, parts used, and findings on repair orders using company-issued devices and/or Karmak application
- Communicate with shop manager and support team to obtain approvals on repair estimates and discuss RO findings
- High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years' experience in a related field
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
