Job SummaryAs a Respiratory Care Specialist PRN at Medical City Dallas, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our respiratory therapy department. Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiopulmonary systems, including evaluating breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation, guaranteeing optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Cite indications, contraindications, risks, and benefits for venoarterial and venovenous ECMO support, ensuring informed decision-making and optimal patient care.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:

- A current enrollment in an accredited school of respiratory care or completion of the program with CRT/RRT credential within 180 days of hire.
- Delegated tasks and data collection taught and verified in the course of study.
- CRT, RRT, or RPFT by NBRC within 180 days upon completion of accredited program.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider certification.
