The Pediatric Urology Psychologist will be responsible for conducting evaluations, assessments, and interventions for patients at the Urology Clinic within a leading healthcare institution.
This role involves providing brief therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing treatment adherence, coping strategies, and adjustment to medical conditions, alongside managing a caseload of outpatient psychotherapy for clinic patients.
- Uphold and promote the mission, vision, and values of VHS Physician of MI.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality standards.
- Demonstrate commitment to corporate compliance by understanding and adhering to relevant laws and policies.
- Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for diagnostic and referral purposes.
- Develop tailored treatment plans for each pediatric patient.
- Provide education to families regarding normative developmental responses to medical issues and treatment options.
- Assist caregivers with strategies to enhance treatment engagement and adapt to medical challenges.
- Support research initiatives, including obtaining necessary approvals, contributing to writing projects, and data management.
- Screen for substance use and provide appropriate interventions and referrals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to support the psychological well-being of children.
- Organize educational sessions for patients, families, and medical staff as needed.
- Address psychosocial and educational issues through appropriate psychological interventions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of assessments and treatment plans in accordance with institutional policies.
- Provide consistent support in outpatient Urology Clinics.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required.
Education:
Candidates must possess a doctoral degree from an accredited psychology program.
Licensure:
Must be a Licensed Psychologist.
Experience:
Ideal candidates will have a background in working with interdisciplinary teams and experience with children and families in healthcare settings. Interest in research and service line development is preferred.
VHS Physician of MI adheres to all applicable laws regarding workforce vaccination requirements. Candidates offered this position may need to provide proof of vaccination or secure an exemption prior to employment.
