Firefighter ALS Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Firefighter ALS to join our team at the City of Manassas. As a Firefighter ALS, you will be responsible for protecting life and property by performing difficult protective service work associated with fire suppression, emergency medical services, and related emergency response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform fire suppression and emergency medical services in emergency situations
  • Drive fire apparatus and operate fire pumps and/or aerial devices
  • Provide advanced life support and emergency medical care
  • Meet all Departmental, City and State requirements for this position
Requirements:
  • Current Virginia certification as a Firefighter II, VA EMT-Intermediate or VA EMT-Paramedic, or National Registry paramedic
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid Virginia driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED
