Position Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that all machinery and equipment are maintained in optimal working condition. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, aiming to minimize downtime and enhance production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute maintenance tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative in reducing equipment downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems, disassembling equipment to access and replace faulty components.
- Operate various shop machinery, including drill presses, grinders, and welders, while utilizing hand and pneumatic tools for repairs.
- Install and modify electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as necessary.
- Enhance the reliability and operational uptime of all equipment through preventive maintenance practices.
- Utilize forklifts and aerial lifts as required for maintenance tasks.
- Research and procure necessary supplies and parts to complete work orders efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through effective use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure all documentation, including maintenance logs and manuals, is up-to-date and accurate.
- Adhere to safety, health, and environmental regulations while performing job duties.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the maintenance department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
- Experience with a variety of tools, including hand tools and power tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, and drive systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on electrical and mechanical systems.
