Senior Director, Programs

At Spoonfuls, we're committed to reducing food waste and promoting sustainability. We're seeking an experienced leader to drive our food recovery programs forward.

About the Role:
  • Lead strategic program operations, managing day-to-day food recovery operations, and overseeing team leadership.
  • Suggest and implement best practices for stakeholder management, partnership development, data collection, logistics, and optimization.
  • Meet with the Food Recovery Program team regularly, maintaining a working knowledge of current beneficiary waiting lists, vendor partners, service areas, routes, and logistics.
  • Establish key performance indicators to track program progress and adjust delivery as needed.
Responsibilities:
  1. Food Recovery Program Team Management:
  • Oversee Spoonfuls' signature food recovery program across Massachusetts.
  • Manage the Food Recovery Program Team leadership.
  • Supervise day-to-day food recovery operations.
  • Monitor and support the development and implementation of efficient processes and program models.
Change Management:
  • Plan programmatic expansion activities outside of Massachusetts, including interstate expansion and new investments.
  • Lead change management efforts across the program team.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth transitions.
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
  • Contribute to setting organizational goals and programmatic objectives aligned with the organization's vision.
  • Set specific targets for the program to meet organizational goals.
  • Design and implement program strategies, plans, and procedures to ensure continued growth and stability.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Work with the Development Team and Communications and Public Affairs team to provide information for funders and contribute to grant proposals.
  • Engage stakeholders with Spoonfuls' programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders inquiring about Spoonfuls' programs.
Budget & Resource Management:
  • Establish sustainable insurance controls and practices.
  • Responsible manage organizational assets and risk mitigation.
  • Manage the budgeting process annually for the department.
Process Improvement and Performance Monitoring:
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations of operational procedures.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in handling crises that impact functions, including supply chain disruptions and regulatory changes.

Estimated Salary: $95,000 - $120,000 per year

This is a full-time exempt position requiring availability from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A hybrid work schedule allows for a balance between office and remote work. The role involves minimal physical demands but requires occasional filing and materials management.
