Position Responsibilities

The Automotive Service Technician is tasked with executing vehicle repairs and maintenance as directed, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards. This role also includes supervising any apprentice technicians assigned.

Key Duties:

  • Receive and process repair orders from the service dispatcher.
  • Execute repairs as specified on the repair order with precision and efficiency.
  • Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to procure required components.
  • Tag and save parts for warranty jobs or customer requests.
  • Inspect vehicles for additional safety or service needs.
  • Inform the service advisor promptly if additional work is unnecessary.
  • Communicate with the service advisor if repairs cannot be completed on time.
  • Document all work performed accurately.
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles as needed, ensuring customer vehicles are not used for personal errands.
  • Oversee the work of apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Participate in factory-sponsored training sessions.
  • Stay updated on factory technical bulletins.
  • Maintain cleanliness of customer vehicles.
  • Keep the workshop organized and account for all dealership-owned tools.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and report any incidents to management.
Qualifications
  • High Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) is essential.
  • ASE certification or equivalent manufacturer training preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong manual dexterity and good judgment.
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Ability to perform duties safely and effectively.
  • Must pass pre-employment screenings including background checks and drug tests.
