Job Summary

As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting new and existing manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure process repeatability, product quality, labor efficiency, and cost target attainment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to increase production efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Create and maintain a Preventative Maintenance program to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular reviews of manufacturing lines and develop equipment/line improvement plans to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Support new production tooling runs and changeovers, and train employees as needed.
  • Assist plant teams in reviewing equipment needs and prioritizing these needs for capital planning purposes.
  • Manage key equipment installations in conjunction with the VP, Facilities Superintendent.
  • Implement and maintain a continuous improvement program to drive best practices through standardized processes.
  • Lead groups to systematically problem solve and identify root causes and permanent corrective action for key manufacturing issues.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for key manufacturing processes and create technical work instructions for equipment.
  • Provide formal updates and reviews to the HDPE Division Manager on key projects, tooling runs, and improvement activities being implemented.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of proven experience in developing/optimizing equipment/process in Plastics Manufacturing, specifically Extrusion, Vacuum forming, or Injection Molding.
  • Four-year degree in Chemical, Plastics, Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with different types of extruders and an understanding of the Extrusion process is a plus.
  • Prior experience in plastic manufacturing software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and systematic problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support plant requirements.
Physical Requirements

The successful candidate must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. The role may occasionally require standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. The candidate may be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, and extreme noise when working at plant locations.
