Overview:

The Women's Shelter Front Desk Associate plays a vital role in providing support to both clients and staff during the graveyard shift. This position requires a compassionate individual who can effectively communicate and assist with various responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a receptionist role is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse individuals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in managing emergency situations with efficiency.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and office protocols.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Dependable, organized, and trustworthy.
  • Must pass a background screening.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Shelter Director and Case Managers.
  • Manage incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Welcome visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Guide clients to the right personnel.
  • Keep an accurate log of guests and staff interactions.
  • Monitor security systems for safety.
  • Handle laundry duties as needed.
  • Secure the shelter environment during night hours.
  • Assist in transporting clients to necessary appointments.
  • Organize and maintain office equipment areas.
  • Keep the clothing closet orderly and accessible.
  • Perform light custodial tasks as required.

Physical Requirements:

This role primarily involves sedentary work, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods and remain at a workstation. Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs may be necessary.
