Sanitation Specialist

Position Overview:

The Sanitation Specialist collaborates closely with the Maintenance Associate to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities. This role is vital in maintaining the standards of the TRC Shelter and its surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough cleaning of the TRC school restrooms in both the administration and school buildings three times daily.
• Maintain cleanliness in the Gym and Teen Lounge twice daily.
• Ensure all classrooms are cleaned at the start and end of each school day.
• Sweep and mop staircases and main hallways two times daily.
• Ensure restrooms are stocked with essential supplies such as paper towels and toilet tissue.
• During winter months, keep all entrance and emergency exit areas clear of snow and ice.
• Consistently maintain cleanliness in all outdoor areas designated for TRC children’s activities.
• Manage the cleanliness of garbage and recycling bins, including sweeping dumpster areas and outside kitchen steps.
• Assist the Maintenance Associate as needed.
• Vacuum and clean TRC staff offices.
• Facilitate the movement of furniture and packages as required.
• Carry out all responsibilities with professionalism and dedication.
• Complete all mandatory training as required by ORR and Abbott House.
• Act as a Mandated Reporter.
• Engage in individual and departmental supervision sessions.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
• Experience or knowledge in custodial services.
• The ability to lift and carry at least 10 lbs.
• Bilingual skills, with a preference for English and Spanish.
• A valid Driver's License.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $42,000 - $45,000 annually

Work Schedule: Day and Evening shifts available.

Language Requirement: Spanish proficiency is required.

Certification: A valid Driver's License is mandatory.

Work Location: In-person.
