About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Network Engineer Intern to join our team at Charter Communications. As a Network Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and gain hands-on experience in network engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with experienced network engineers to design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure
  • Develop and deploy streaming telemetry applications to collect, visualize, and analyze data
  • Work with engineers to create demos and presentations to showcase project results
  • Participate in professional development sessions and networking activities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and graduating with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for Charter Sponsorship
  • Programming skills in Python, C/C++, shell scripting, and app development
  • Basic IP, TCP/QUIC, HTTP networking knowledge, packet capturing, and network performance analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with embedded software stacks, Cablelabs Low Latency DOCSIS, and IETF L4S specifications
  • Familiarity with popular latency-sensitive gaming applications
  • Knowledge of SNMP MIBS, IPDR telemetry, OpenMetrics, Prometheus, and Grafana
