Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Hospital Custodian to join our team at Boys Town National Research Hospital. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, clinical areas, and public spaces.
  • Conduct turnover cleaning between operating room cases to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Utilize hospital-approved chemicals and maintain inventory levels to ensure efficient cleaning operations.
  • Transport linens and supplies as needed to support our clinical teams.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment according to manufacturer instructions to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Handle trash and hazardous waste disposal safely and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control practices to protect our patients and staff.
  • Report safety concerns promptly to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year cleaning experience preferred.
  • Previous hospital technician experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills required to interact with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to work required shift determined by organization needs.
  • Some computer skills required to operate cleaning equipment and software.
