Job SummaryThe Elementary Spanish Teacher will be responsible for teaching Spanish language and culture to students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in language instruction, experience working with diverse student populations, and a passion for creating engaging and inclusive learning environments.
Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to students in grades K-5, including students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and English Language Learner (ELL) classifications.
- Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices for greater student outcomes.
- Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions.
- Document all lesson plans, assignments, rubrics, and other instructional materials and methods.
- Use technology tools for instruction, planning, and communication, and ensure student engagement.
- Provide ongoing and timely feedback to students on their progress towards meeting expectations and achieving goals.
- Create and manage a responsive learning environment that enables students to feel safe, to be creative, and to develop to their fullest potential.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
- NYS teaching certification required.
- Experience in a high-performing charter or district school preferred but not required.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Strong knowledge of Common Core.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff.
- Intermediate to advanced Spanish language skills preferred.
- Proficient in use of technology, including various G Suite teaching tools.
