Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will focus on the following priorities:

  • Customer Experience: Ensure the store is clean, safe, and visually appealing while meeting customer service standards. You should be prepared to assist in various roles for training and during busy periods.
  • Inventory Oversight: Manage the receiving, selection, quality control, and care of merchandise.
  • Team Development: Handle human resource functions such as hiring, promotions, and training, while fostering a safe and positive work environment.
  • Financial Monitoring: Keep track of key financial metrics including budget, revenue, margins, and overall profitability of the store.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Retail Director to share ideas for improvements and execute approved strategies.

Qualifications Required

To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • Extensive knowledge of plants and horticultural practices
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in retail management
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a garden center, nursery, or landscaping environment
  • The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and push/pull up to 200 pounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

This position requires a proactive approach to management and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
