The Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) is seeking a dedicated Part Time Veterinarian to join our Spay/Neuter Clinic. As an open admission, no kill shelter, HAWS supports more than 11,000 animals and welcomes more than 35,000 human visitors to our shelter.
We are looking for a veterinarian with strong surgical skills and a passion for making a difference in the community. The ideal candidate will have a positive and compassionate attitude, and be self-motivated to work alongside management, staff, and volunteers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide and perform quality spay and neuter surgeries for shelter, rescue and community animals working in accordance with shelter veterinary, high volume standards.
- Provide quality medical care to both individual shelter residents and to pets in foster care, rescue group animals and to the pets of within the HAWS community.
- Some contact with the public is required, but is minimal compared to private practice settings.
Salary is commensurate with experience and will be prorated to part time hours based on a general range of $118,000-$135,200 dependent on experience.
Requirements:
- Valid State License by Veterinary Exam Board / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited university.
- Ability to work under pressure and under noisy conditions around animals.
- Ability to lift and work on feet for long periods of time.
- Knowledge and comfort in shelter/medical database.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
