Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Position Summary: The Laboratory Technician at Geotemps Inc. is responsible for executing a variety of tasks as directed by the supervising technicians or designated authorities. This role demands adherence to safety protocols and efficient task execution. Comprehensive training will be provided for each specific duty assigned.

• Data management and entry
• Participate in daily briefings
• Receive and catalog samples, including weighing and documentation
• Label samples and manage laboratory information systems (LIMS)
• Prepare samples for various processes including leaching and concentration
• Implement blending and splitting techniques
• Conduct agglomeration processes
• Operate large and small rotary splitters
• Perform screening practices
• Assist senior technicians and metallurgical staff
• Filter samples and manage solution decantation
• Prepare samples for titration, HPLC, and AA analysis
• Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Conduct routine chemical and metallurgical analyses
• Handle chemical reagents safely and dispose of residues appropriately
• Monitor multiple assays concurrently and report findings accurately
• Support colleagues as needed
• Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience in analytical laboratories, chemistry, or mining is preferred
• Basic math skills for calculations of dilutions and concentrations
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational and documentation capabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety measures
• Reliable transportation is required
• Availability for varied shifts including evenings and weekends may be necessary
• Must pass background checks and health screenings

The physical demands of this position include:

• Constant: Lifting/carrying 11-20 lbs, standing, reaching, and repetitive motions
• Frequent: Lifting/carrying 21-50 lbs, walking on even surfaces
• Occasional: Walking on uneven surfaces, stooping, and sitting

This position is primarily indoors, with exposure to various environmental conditions. Employees may encounter noise, vibrations, and atmospheric conditions that require the use of protective equipment.
