About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Psychologist to join our team at the University of Georgia. As a key member of our Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team, you will provide primary, secondary, and tertiary services to eligible members of the UGA community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical evaluation and counseling/psychotherapy to groups, couples, and individuals, including crisis counseling and consultation.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, coordinate referrals, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Supervise new staff members and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of CAPS trainees.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA-approved program.
  • Experience in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with diverse backgrounds and psychological needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of electronic health records and ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications

We welcome applicants with:

  • Full independent licensure in the State of Georgia.
  • Experience working in a college counseling center or multidisciplinary setting.
  • Training and experience working with underserved populations.
  • Skills in providing telehealth services and presenting concerns typically seen at a university counseling service.
