Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Systems Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Database Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and administering databases to support our clients' complex data processing needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database systems to meet customer requirements
  • Administer and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and performance
  • Develop and implement database security protocols to protect sensitive data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data infrastructure projects
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of data systems and platforms

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline
  • At least eight (8) years of related experience in database engineering and administration
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience designing, installing, administrating, upgrading, patching, and performance tuning Oracle databases
  • Demonstrated experience in database security analysis and vulnerability remediation process
  • Current and practical expertise using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Plus and SQL Developer

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with administration and configuration of database solutions for document and geospatial data/capabilities
  • Prior experience supporting database systems for the Sponsor or the IC for CT mission
  • Prior experience supporting database systems for data collections unique to the Sponsor or the IC
  • Experience delivering or integrating solutions using RDBMS technologies and NoSQL technologies
