Your Role:
We are in search of a skilled and enthusiastic Regional Nurse Consultant to offer essential support to our skilled nursing facilities as needed. The regional assignments will be determined by the requirements of our communities and elderly population. This role entails overseeing nursing practice standards at the designated community/facility and is accountable for the planning, organization, and development of clinical programs, as well as directing overall nursing operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance and oversight on admission, discharge, and transfer protocols.
- Overseeing MDS assessments, care planning, and the RAI process while managing Infection Control protocols.
- Ensuring the continuity of nursing services to meet established quality standards by reviewing incident reports, accident reports, and 24-hour reports from units daily to facilitate timely and effective responses to changes and resident events.
- Assisting in the management of nursing staff at all levels to ensure adherence to nursing practice standards, quality care, and operational efficiency.
- Responsible for the comprehensive training of nursing personnel to support clinical services and achieve established clinical competency benchmarks.
- Collaborating closely with the Administrator and Director of Nursing to manage staffing in alignment with census and acuity while upholding quality care standards.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional nursing experience.
- Experience in a supervisory role within long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with Quality Assurance and Improvement processes.
- Preferred experience with state survey processes.
- Experience in geriatrics or long-term care is preferred; management experience is a plus.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Possession of a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Hawaii is required.
