Position Overview
The Sourcing Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the procurement processes for goods, materials, and services, ensuring that operational requirements are fulfilled with a focus on cost-effectiveness, quality assurance, and timely delivery to maintain seamless supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue purchase orders to both internal and external suppliers in accordance with defined cost, quality, and delivery objectives utilizing SAP and Weber's procurement platform, Onventis.
- Assist various departments by communicating any supply chain issues that could affect operational activities.
- Serve as a liaison between suppliers and relevant departments regarding procurement processes, projects, and initiatives.
- Prepare and oversee purchase orders and order timelines.
- Facilitate and coordinate urgent purchase order placements to meet critical deadlines.
- Maintain a professional and consistent approach in managing supplier relationships.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procurement guidelines, and procedures.
- Collaborate with receiving teams to resolve inventory discrepancies and address missing or overdue goods receipts.
- Process requests for the establishment of new vendors.
- Monitor procurement metrics and take proactive measures to prevent overstock situations while following up on overdue orders.
- Coordinate with logistics providers and customs agents to ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments.
- Assist the Accounting department with discrepancies related to invoicing and purchase orders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Flexibility to meet performance objectives and adapt to evolving requirements.
- Strong communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with a strong aptitude for problem-solving.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Commercial acumen with an understanding of the implications of procurement failures on production and customer fulfillment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in the German language is a plus.
- Prior experience in purchasing is preferred.
- Proficient in computer applications with advanced skills in Excel.
