Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a key member of our distribution center team, you will be responsible for operating a forklift, transporting merchandise and materials, and ensuring the efficient flow of inventory throughout the club.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner, inspecting equipment prior to use and following established safety standards.
  • Load and unload merchandise and materials to and from delivery trucks, inspecting and preparing delivery trucks for unloading.
  • Accurately receive all merchandise and materials delivered to the club, lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects as needed.
  • Stock, rotate, and store general merchandise and food merchandise, ensuring that inventory is fully stocked and handled in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the club is neat, clean, and organized, performing general maintenance duties including removing trash and cardboard from the club.
  • Participate in daily club openings and closings, returning merchandise back to the sales floor and providing excellent customer service to members.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Prior forklift operating experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
Work Environment

The majority of the time will be spent standing and moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds, with occasional exposure to temperature extremes in freezer or cooler units.
