Job Title: Yard Hostler

At Peninsula Truck Lines, we're seeking a skilled Yard Hostler to join our team. As a Yard Hostler, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trailers and freight within our yard.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with dispatch and dock supervisors/leads to ensure planning needs are met and trailer movements are coordinated.
  • Organize and maintain the trailer yard for maximum efficiency, ensuring that trailers are properly secured and accessible.
  • Bring trailers to and from the dock, adhering to company protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarize yourself with Bills of Lading, Manifests, and other Shipping/Receiving Documents to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Develop a team player attitude, staying on task and communicating effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Class A CDL preferred, with Hazmat and doubles/triples endorsements required within 90 days of hire date.
