The Expert Automotive Repair Specialist is responsible for executing vehicle repairs and maintenance as directed, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards, while fostering customer loyalty through trust and confidence in AutoNation as a reliable service provider for vehicle safety and dependability.

Who Will I Collaborate With?

This role involves daily interactions with Customers, Service Advisors, fellow Technicians, Parts Associates, Cashiers, Sales Associates, and Management, among others.


What Will My Daily Tasks Include?
  • Carrying out vehicle repairs and/or maintenance tasks as specified on repair orders with precision and efficiency, in line with dealership and manufacturer standards to enhance customer loyalty.
  • Regularly communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to effectively manage workflow and customer interactions.
  • Diagnosing issues and performing repairs as authorized by the customer.
  • Conducting comprehensive inspections to make suitable recommendations that ensure the safety and reliability of customer vehicles.
  • Documenting all work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintaining a personal inventory of standard technician tools not typically managed by the service department.
  • Staying updated on manufacturer technical bulletins and participating in relevant training sessions.
  • Delivering an outstanding customer experience to promote loyalty.

The performance of an Expert Automotive Repair Specialist is evaluated based on:

  • Achieving targeted production levels.
  • Meeting sales goals.
  • Attaining a high Customer Satisfaction Index.

What Are the Qualifications for This Role?
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician in a dealership setting.
  • Experience with VW and/or Audi is preferred, but experience with Mercedes Benz, BMW, or Porsche will also be considered.
  • Relevant automotive technical training (varies based on store needs).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • A valid in-state driver's license with a safe driving record.
