Urban Peak is seeking an exceptional Executive Director of Finance and Operations to lead our organization's financial and operational matters.

About Urban Peak

Founded in 1988, we provide a full convergence of services for youth ages 15 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Our goal is to meet youth where they are and to provide them with the assistance and support they need to become self-sufficient or obtain the necessary services they need to exit a life on the streets.

Job Summary

The Executive Director of Finance and Operations will be responsible for providing leadership in all financial and operational matters of Urban Peak. This includes overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring compliance with government and private funders, organization policies, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations in all business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership:
    • Leads a team of accounting and administrative managers.
    • Oversees the financial health of Urban Peak, including budget preparation, monitoring, and variance tracking, cash flow, and financial investments, ratios, financial planning, and forecasting, and capital asset management.
    • Ensures integrity, accuracy, and transparency of organizational financial transactions.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Ensures compliance with government and private funders, organization policies, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations in all business operations.
    • Provides leadership to internal and external teams for IT network and infrastructure and onsite operations support.
    • Assigns priorities, delegates authority, and provides guidance on operational issues.
  • Oversight, Planning, and Leadership:
    • Assists the CEO with strategic financial and operational development.
    • Serves on the Senior Leadership Team as an active and contributing member supporting the organization's mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and objectives.
  • Supervision:
    • Effectively supervises and manages direct reports and provides, by example and leadership, motivation and direction to employees of the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Finance or Operations Director, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, or other top-level position including financial oversight, organizational management, staff supervision, strategic thinking, budgeting, audits, and problem-solving.
  • MBA in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors.
  • Experience with not-for-profit billings and fund accounting, payroll, governmental reporting, and audits.
  • Must have spreadsheet and accounting software experience.
  • Must be proficient in project management and delegation of tasks tied to project plans.
