Job Title: Certified Medication Aide

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Penn Center Residential Care Facility in Delhi, Iowa.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide care to individuals working towards recovery and independence in the community. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will be responsible for setting up and distributing medications according to physician's orders, participating in total resident care, and providing 1:1 interaction with residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and distribute medications according to physician's orders.
  • Participate in total resident care through the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each individual resident's care plan.
  • Provide 1:1 interaction with residents.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of resident programming.
  • Complete documentation of any changes in programming, as outlined in care plans or in addition to care plans, on an on-going basis.
  • Participate in mandatory educational programs.
  • Participate in intrafacility committees as assigned by administrator.
Requirements:
  • CMA certificate from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of two years work experience with an emphasis in human services/mental health/mental retardation, and/or gerontology.
  • Health examination and TB test at commencement of employment and thereafter as set forth by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals.
  • Pre-employment participation in mandatory drug testing, and thereafter as set forth by AbbeHealth policy and the Drug Free Workplace.
  • Valid Iowa Driver's License or ability to get one shortly after employment.
  • Results of Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the requirements for violations as set forth in AbbeHealth's Vehicle Fleet Driving Program.
  • Carry current automobile insurance in accordance with AbbeHealth's policies.
