Job Overview
- The Field Service Engineer for Ingersoll Rand's Industrial Technologies and Services Division supports clients by installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, along with additional components of compressed air systems. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools for troubleshooting compressed air equipment is essential. Familiarity with all operational and parts manuals related to the equipment is also required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the proper installation, maintenance, and field repair of equipment manufactured and sold by Ingersoll Rand at customer locations.
- Stay informed about the field installation and repair requirements for this equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and training to customers, potential clients, field sales personnel, and service trainees.
- Diagnose issues, recommend corrective actions in an unsupervised setting, and submit clear, accurate records and/or verbal reports to the manufacturing facility.
- Maintain a high level of integrity in managing business affairs.
- Exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information related to service work clearly and logically.
- Prepare detailed technical reports for each service call in a legible format suitable for customer billing.
- Submit accurate, detailed, and timely expense reports along with timecards weekly. Maintain sound financial records and practices to manage company business matters, including credit cards and, if necessary, a company vehicle.
Basic Qualifications
- Preferred candidates will possess 2-5 years of experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems. Experience with compressed air systems, centrifugal technologies, or solid controls is advantageous. While not mandatory, individuals with knowledge in the service, diagnosis, and startup of both rotary and centrifugal air compressors, including dryers, cooling towers, and filtration systems, are encouraged to apply.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
