At Questec Constructors Inc., we invest in our community by offering an accredited and DOL registered apprenticeship program with a strong history of graduating talented workers who make a difference in the workforce.

Program Overview

Our four-year, tuition-free program teaches all aspects of the plumbing and pipefitting trades. The apprenticeship program combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction, which teaches apprentices the practical and hands-on aspects of highly skilled occupations while receiving a free education.

Primary Duties
  • Attend Apprenticeship classes twice a month
  • Learn and assist in fabricating, assembling, installing, repairing, or replacing plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and control used to transport water, waste, gases, or hot liquids
  • Work in cooperation with all co-workers as well as other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, building codes (local and state), safety regulations, and legal requirements are met
  • Accept directions and guidance from Questec journeymen, foremen, and field supervisor
  • Ensure efficient completion of all projects, being aware of productivity at all times
  • Perform manual labor tasks that prepare the work area for construction
Characteristics and Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years old and have their high school diploma or GED
  • Valid drivers license and reliable, daily transportation
  • Willing to travel to a variety of commercial job sites within a reasonable radius of home address
  • Exposure to construction trades or shop classes/trade school is preferred
  • Experience doing manual labor and working outdoors
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively and respectfully
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 upon hire
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds on own
  • Ability to push, pull, carry, and maneuver heavy items (with additional manpower or appropriate tools)
  • Ability to withstand long periods of standing, squatting, stooping, and crawling (stationary positions up to 50% of time)
  • Ability to feel, grasp, operate and position items with fingers and hands
  • Ability to effectively perform work at ground level, above ground level, below ground level and in confined spaces such as pipe shafts, crawl spaces, tunnels, and basins
