Key Responsibilities- Provide clear and understandable instructions to patients navigating the healthcare system
- Follow up on unresolved patient questions or needs to ensure continuity of care
- Assist with administrative duties, including scanning medical records and faxing
- Guide patients through self-arrival technology or check-in at the desk
- Schedule or connect patients to resources for ancillary services
- Understand and apply principles of service recovery to resolve issues
- Assist patients with financial responsibility and connect them to advocacy resources
- Obtain patient or family member signatures for consent and financial responsibility
- Verify insurance benefits and promote the MyUPMC patient portal
- Collect copayments and patient payments at the point of service
- Provide a warm greeting and register patients in the Biometrics program
- Confirm and update patient registration information
- Triangulate phone calls and schedule follow-up appointments
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Experience with personal computer-based applications and office equipment preferred
- Two years of experience in a medical, billing, fiscal, or customer service function preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems preferred
