Job Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer, Facilities

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in space exploration. As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, Facilities, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety, integrity, and efficiency of our electrical distribution systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering support for the design, operation, improvement, and troubleshooting of all facility electrical components and systems.
  • Coordinate downtime activities between maintenance, construction, and production teams to minimize disruptions.
  • Drive electrical distribution improvement projects using design change requests, power monitoring data, and advanced detection methods.
  • Troubleshoot electrical system problems, conduct breaker coordination, arc flash studies, and track electrical load and capacity.
  • Coordinate material procurement for equipment upkeep.
  • Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out.
  • Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to design, optimize, and maintain electrical systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering support to facility technicians to troubleshoot existing electrical equipment and controllers.
  • Oversee equipment installation, operation, and maintenance to meet specified parameters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical engineering and medium or high voltage power systems.
  • Preferred skills and experience include:
    • 7+ years of professional experience with the design or build of commercial or industrial power systems.
    • Primary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (
