Job Summary

Chicken N Pickle is seeking a highly skilled HR Generalist to join our team as a Field HR Specialist. This role will provide comprehensive HR support and expertise to multiple restaurant locations, ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies and practices that align with business objectives.

  • HR Policy Implementation: Educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Employee Relations: Take appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations, and address employee grievances in a fair and timely manner.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by answering employee, manager, and applicant requests and questions, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Field Support: Be actively involved in the restaurants in your region, attending pre-games and being visible on-site to support employees at non-traditional hours and days.
  • HR Skill Outs: Complete HR skill outs quarterly, ensuring the team is up-to-date on the latest HR practices and procedures.
  • Store-Specific Training: Assign and schedule store-specific HR training, ensuring employees have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Retention and Improvement: Track retention and recommend necessary improvements to ensure a high-performing team.
  • HR Newsletter: Assist in creating the monthly HR newsletter, keeping employees informed about company news and updates.
  • Compliance: Partner with the compliance team on liability inspections, trainings, and required yearly reporting.
  • Policies and Training: Create policies and training documents to alleviate HR mistakes and/or concerns.
  • Documentation: Facilitate the appropriate completion and timely submission of human resources documentation.
  • Team Member Training: Coordinate twice-a-year all team member training, ensuring employees have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Terminations: Assist with processing of terminations, ensuring a smooth and fair process.
  • Performance Reviews: Assist with the preparation of the performance review process, ensuring evaluations are completed in a timely manner and are compliant with HR laws.
  • HR Training: Conduct HR training in new and existing restaurants, ensuring employees have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Employee Complaint Investigations: Follow HR guidelines while conducting employee complaint investigations, ensuring a fair and timely process.
  • Document Filing: File documents into appropriate employee files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • COVID-19 Response: Respond to all questions and concerns about COVID-19 or other pandemic situations, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Employee Requests: Respond to employee requests/questions within 24 hours, ensuring prompt and effective communication.
  • Onboarding: Supervise onboarding procedures to ensure I-9s are completed in a timely manner.
  • Special Events: Assist with the execution of special events, such as benefits enrollment, employee recognition events, and bereavement gifts.
  • Training and Recruiting: Partner with the Training and Recruiting department as needed on training materials or in-person training.
  • Team Member Gift Cards: Own the Team Member Gift card process for locations in the region.
  • Internal Promotions: Provide support and training to internal promotions, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Key Hire Support: Partner with training on key hire one-on-one support.
  • Regional Calls: Complete bi-weekly Regional Director calls and monthly Regional GM and KM calls.
  • Surveys: Own and execute all surveys, exit, stay, and yearly.
Requirements
  • HR Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience with a track record of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Paychex Experience: Experience with Paychex is a plus, but not required.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Knowledge of Employment Laws: Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Software Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS.
  • Human Resource Principles: Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and time management abilities, with exceptional detail orientation and follow-through.
  • Restaurant Experience: Prior restaurant experience required.
  • Public Speaking: Comfortable speaking in front of groups of employees.
  • Problem-Solving: Enjoys problem-solving.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as necessary up to 85%.
  • Bilingual: Bilingual - Spanish preferred.
