The University of Utah is seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team in the Neural Plasticity Rehabilitation and Movement Dynamics Laboratory. As a Research Engineer, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, developing codes to analyze data, and handling sensitive data in a professional manner.
Responsibilities- Well-versed in MATLAB and proficient in signal processing and Arduino programming.
- Preferable experience in other programming languages such as Python and C++.
- Attend a weekly laboratory meeting and report to the group on progress of assigned duties.
- Assist other laboratory staff in collecting biomechanics and neurophysiological data (Training provided).
- Develop codes to analyze data and handle sensitive data in a professional manner.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, other members of the research team, and Principal Investigator.
- Must be able to work independently while exhibiting a level of judgment that ensures participant safety and adherence to study protocols and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field, or equivalency, plus two years of related experience.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
- A valid Utah Driver's License may be required in certain departments.
The Research Engineer will work in an office environment with nearly continuous sitting, hearing, listening, and talking. The position may require occasional walking and repetitive hand motion.
