Oncology Nurse Specialist

The Oncology Registered Nurse plays a vital role in providing specialized care to patients with cancer in a hospital or clinic setting. This position requires a high level of expertise and compassion to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Provides oncology nursing care to patients, including administering chemotherapy, blood products, and medications.
- Observes and assesses patients' conditions, identifying potential health risks and taking necessary actions to mitigate them.
- Develops and implements individualized care plans, working closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
- Provides education and support to patients and families, addressing their concerns and needs throughout the treatment process.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in oncology nursing care.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- One year of experience in oncology nursing, preferred.
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Participation in Amergis' Competency program, when applicable.
- Current CPR certification, if applicable.
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
- Current Health certificate, per contract or state regulation.
- Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training, as applicable to the job site.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
