Job SummaryThe Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with developmental delays in grades K-4. The ideal candidate will have experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to ensure students can access the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Design, supervise, and implement students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) plans.
- Provide direct instruction utilizing specialized curriculum provided.
- Develop curriculum modifications and adaptations.
- Participate in IEP Team meetings.
- Write effective IEPs for students.
- Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress.
- Effectively work with a team of professionals to coordinate services.
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to facilitate inclusion.
- Consult with general education teachers and related service providers.
- Write quarterly progress reports for IEP goals that are data-based on student performance.
- Conduct academic evaluations, interpret results, and write evaluation reports within the timelines.
- A Master's degree in special education from an accredited college or university.
- MA DESE Teaching License PreK-8 Moderate or Severe Special Needs license is required.
- Experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to ensure students can access the curriculum.
- Ability to effectively consult and work collaboratively with various service providers and support staff.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Experience with IEP development is required.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
