Ozarka College is currently inviting applications for the role of Nursing Education Instructor at the Melbourne campus. Under the guidance of the Division Chair of Allied Health, the Nursing Education Instructor is responsible for ensuring high standards in teaching and learning by delivering quality, relevant, and impactful instruction in their designated courses.
This position is structured as a nine-month role with a teaching commitment of at least 15 hours per semester. Key responsibilities encompass both classroom and clinical instruction, course design and evaluation, active participation in campus committees and initiatives, facilitating student internships, and other assigned tasks.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create course syllabi, educational materials, and related activities while providing instruction for assigned developmental and college-level courses, along with any additional courses as required.
- Encourage student involvement in professional organizations to enrich their educational experience.
- Identify and coordinate clinical or internship opportunities for students as necessary.
- Provide leadership and oversight for all assigned program course offerings.
- Collaborate effectively with the Director of Nursing Programs and Division Chair of Allied Health to develop, enhance, and promote the curriculum and the program.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to foster the growth and quality of assigned programs.
- Advise and assist Ozarka College students in their academic journey.
- Participate in Ozarka College committees as assigned to support programs and services that contribute to student development within the college community.
- Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of an Ozarka College faculty member in a timely and effective manner.
- Seek and implement initiatives, services, and programs that ensure Ozarka College is a vibrant contributor to the quality of life in the North Central Arkansas and Ozark Mountain region.
- Uphold the dignity of all individuals utilizing the College's resources.
- Challenge all learners to reach their full potential.
- Establish systems that provide all learners with opportunities to embrace the challenges and responsibilities of learning and personal growth.
- Foster a College environment characterized by respect, dignity, and collaboration, where ideas, inquiry, and the pursuit of self-improvement are valued as essential components of learning and development.
- Registered Nurse with a current, unencumbered license to practice in Arkansas.
- A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current knowledge of nursing practices.
- Preferred teaching experience in higher education.
- Must undergo background checks.
- Demonstrated understanding of the responsibilities and skills required for this position.
- Proficient in computer usage relevant to position requirements.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
